Today is Day One of Gas Safety Week 2023
Gas Safety Week 2023 is here! This year celebrates the diversity of the UK's 152,000 Gas Safe engineers and the essential role that they play in keeping the nation gas safe. It’s a legal requirement for gas engineers to be Gas Safe registered. You can check what work they are legally qualified to do on the Gas Safe website and remember to check their ID card before work takes place.
All QHS qualified gas engineers are Gas Safe registered, and as a result QHS are big supporters of every annual Gas Safety Week, plus do please remember it is important that you ensure that your gas appliances are checked annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Unchecked gas appliances may increase the risk of CO poisoning, gas leaks, fires and explosions. Don't leave it to chance.
If you’re living in a rented property or have tenants, remember there are legal gas safety responsibilities for landlords to consider. One is to provide a Landlord’s Gas Safety Record annually (LGSR). QHS's Gas Safe registered gas engineers regularly carry out LGSR annual gas safety checks on behalf of social housing Landlords such as Housing Associations and Local Authorities.
It’s essential to stay aware of vital gas safety advice as we go into the winter months. Look for signs of unsafe gas appliances, such as a lazy yellow flame, boiler errors, and uncommon noises. Find out more at GasSafeRegister.co.uk
