QHS carried out planned maintenance at Boothman House, which started on Thursday 14 February 2019. We installed two brand new communal gas fired boilers, providing heating and hot water to the residents of the block.
Thursday 14 February 2019 - Over 2-3 weeks, Boothman House received new gas boilers as part of a scheduled system update.
Friday 15 February 2019 - AM: Good news - the first new boiler went online. We expected the second new boiler to come online by the end of the day, which thankfully it was.
Friday 15 February 2019 - PM: Two new boilers are now up and running, after the second boiler went online successfully this afternoon. A third boiler was hung on the wall by QHS installers, and this 3rd boiler went online early the following week.
The day has gone smoothly, perhaps helped by the sun showing up this afternoon! With two boilers up and running, we don't expect any issues over the weekend, as the system is working as it should.
Tuesday 19th February 2019 - AM: Scaffolding went up at Boothman House. This enabled us to install the new boiler flue system.
Tuesday 19 February 2019 - PM: The old boilers were removed from site, and the block is running entirely on the new system.
Wednesday 20 February 2019 - All boilers are up and running and the electrics are working as they should. All that remained to be completed was putting the external section of the boiler flue in place, which was done in a timely fashion.
Monday 25 February 2019 - Work was totally completed in the boiler house. We are pleased with the results and hope that everyone else is too.
Throughout the installtions QHS operatives tried to minimise disruption to residents heating and hot water as much as possible. However, on some brief occassions we did need to turn off the hot water supply so that we could install new parts. We were pleased that any disruption was only for a short period of time.
